Labour Uncut article: direct action, anarchists and respect

Here’s a link to my (slightly belatedly-published) defence of direct action – and why we should respect the political motivations of all protestors, regardless of whether we disagree with their motives or tactics.

In some ways it’s a follow up from the piece I wrote earlier in the week for this blog, covering some of the same territory.

But I wrote the Uncut piece mainly in response to a sad, patronising and confused attack on UK Uncut, which suggested the non-violent tax-focused direct action group was just in it for a laugh, that they were actually guilty of violent offences and that Labour MPs were stupid to have ever been associated with them.
