Leszek letter was printed after all… without the sharpest criticism

I RECENTLY put up on here the text of a letter I’d written to Welsh Daily the Western Mail, after they published a fawning interview with Cambridge vice-chancellor Leszek Borysiewicz. It turns out it was printed after all, but, surprise surprise, they took out this final paragraph of sharp criticism:

Perhaps if your interviewer spent less time heaping the superlatives and “reminding [Borysiewicz] that he doubtless has a brilliant mind”, we could have got closer to the vice-chancellor’s questionable moral scruples and dubious commitment to “academic debate”.

Hmmm.
